  You're watching TV and suddenly you see something slid under your door. It looks like an Ikea box. When you pick it up and open it a whole bedroom pops up to demonstrate two things: Ikea flat pack furniture designs are super easy to assemble and they look great.All the items used in the bedroom can be found at Ikea - from the furniture to the bed sheets to the comfy slippers. This one was really a labor of love. It involved hours and hours in Photoshop amongst hundreds of layers, a number of visits to Ikea and lots of photography and retouching. Not to mention the hours down at the press.

COGGLES

Some time ago I came across Coggles, a delightful digital dept. store. It has 'I want' written all over it.

The shop, was apparently named after the secretary of the former husband of founder Victoria Bage. The explanation for the name of the shop: Victoria's husband was caught having an affair with this secretary. Victoria divorced him and took revenge by the naming the shop to change the name of the secretary, Sarah Coggles. A strong reminder of the creativity rage can arouse.

Founded in 1974 in downtown York, it is now an online store with great content.

-On Saturday morning there was a gentleman of Borent at the door with a mini excavator, supposed to be digging trenches for sewers. Hired for one day, but not my choice. My son (12) and I took it for a ride. On fallow land, we built a sand castle. Certainly two meters high, surrounded by a deep moat. Gasoline turned out not to be included, but it was worth the fun. Thanks!

These days are much about food... Sinterklaas, mainly about sweets. An attack on childrens teeth is the only thing left from the kind of sadistic Sint of the forties, fifties and early sixties. Luckily for expats there is Typical Dutch Stuff. Nice for the Dutch to take a look from the outside at their inside... [not their stomach content]
